
Water Polo Strength Off-season/In-Season training programme
Water Polo Strength is a 16-week training programme, based at the Sports Science Institute for Cape Town-based high school water polo players. This land-based programme is structured and periodised to develop foundational strength and power in the pool for the upcoming season.
Sign up for our Water Polo Strength programme, starting on 11 August 2025 until 28 November 2025.. This 4 month programme includes the following:
- 2 sessions per week in the HPC gym for the first 8 weeks (11 August - 3 October)
- 1 session per week for the last 8 weeks (in season, 6 October - 28 November)
- 24 group based training sessions in total
- Choice between timeslots:
- First 8 weeks - Monday and Wednesday at 4pm; OR Tuesday and Thursday at 4pm
- Last 8 weeks - Monday at 4pm; OR Tuesday at 4pm
- Load monitoring and evaluation by our High Performance Centre sports scientist.
- Initial and post-programme assessments
- Periodised programming
- u/15 - u/19
- Cost: R2715 (for the full 4 months)
