Physiotherapy Centre at SSISA

The Sports Science Physiotherapy Centre (SSPC) has numerous well qualified Master, senior & junior physiotherapists.

Our aim is to provide a holistic, comprehensive and scientific service to all professional, amateur and recreational athletes in all sporting codes, as well as all members of the public. Founded by Theo Calligeris and supported by his wife Elena Calligeris, it has since developed into an internationally recognised service delivery centre called SSPC. This together with the quality and support of services delivered by the physiotherapist and admin staff has helped SSPC evolve into what it is today. The SSPC also involves itself academically with the UCT department of physiotherapy and assist in the clinical evaluation blocks of the 2nd year students. We also run academic courses  at SSPC throughout the year inviting all qualified physiotherapists and students to attend.

Furthermore, newly qualified physiotherapists can now join our amazing internship program.

The centre offers physiotherapy to all members of the public. We also have an interest in research, physiotherapy, sports physiotherapy, pre-(prehabilitation) and post-(rehabilitation) operative orthopaedic rehabilitation, injury management planning in prevention and return to play (RTP) with an annual plan. At the SSPC we also treat concussion, vertigo and balance disturbances in the wide-ranging population while massage therapy is offered through the Sports Science Massage Centre (SSMC). The SSPC has always upheld the highest standards in service delivery and is committed to efficacy and an evidence based, innovative approach to rehabilitation, manual therapy in physiotherapy, andsports physiotherapy.
