SSISA hosts The ASICS GEL-KAYANO™ 30 launch

In the latest version of the Asics GEL-KAYANO™ 30, said to be a remarkable upgrade, has been made with the implementation of engineered mesh instead of the previous knit upper. This innovative feature not only enhances the lightweight feel on the foot but also provides superior ventilation throughout the entire foot channelling. As for the internal heel counter, it remains virtually unchanged, ensuring consistent support and stability. SSISA embarked on an enjoyable inquiry into the latest release in the GEL-KAYANO™ range.

ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30 Media Launch at SSISA

The ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30 is the latest release in Running Shoes. On 13 July 2023, ASICS South Africa, along with ASICS Front Runners and Medical Professional VIPs were invited to the Media Launch which took place at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa Conference Centre, where delegates could fit the ASICS Gel-Kayano 30 and take it for a test run in the SSISA Fitness Centre.

John Andrew, the ASICS Brand Trainer for South Africa, demonstrated the benefits of the PureGel technology used in the shoe and showed that this new release has much better shock absorption and propulsion properties than in previous stability running shoe releases from ASICS. The SSISA Inquiry Team conducted a “Fun Investigation” into the new ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30, using the footwear comfort index, 5km test runs tracked on Strava® and biomechanical insights to take this shoe through some acute diagnostics on two volunteer running participants.

It was observed that the ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30 is a running shoe combining both stability and neutral elements through its 4D Guiding System technology, making for the perfect day-to-day running shoe, and offers stability “on-demand” for longer running routes (such as a half marathons or full marathons). It is known that towards the end of a long race, the foot tends to overpronate, thereby risking ankle, knee and hip injury as well as a decrease in stride length and energy return. The ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30 provides that extra stability, regardless of whether runners typically wear either neutral or stability running shoes. In the ASICS Gel-Kayano™ 30, you get the best of both due to the new technology and materials used to develop this new design.
