Swimming at SSISA

SSISA prides itself as a world-class Performance Sport offering with top Swimming Squads and facilities. We offer coaching from youth Elite Squads all the way though to Masters and Triathlon, as well as our overall fitness swimming squads.  Coaching is done by our Sports Performance Coaches, Lezandre Wolmarans and Rebecca Johansson.


  • Our Elite Squads consist of Level 3, Junior National and Seniors National swimmers.
  • Junior swim Squads mainly consist of Level 1 and 2 swimmers as well as swimmers who swim school gala’s.
  •  We offer one-on-one strengthening sessions for swimmers, as well as group sessions according to the swimmer’s ability.
  • The individual sessions are done according to the swimmer’s needs, while the group sessions are a range of injury-prevention exercises, combined with general swim-specific strength, flexibility and core exercises.
  •  Stroke correction sessions are done in small groups or as a one-on-one session.
  • For younger kids, between the ages of 6 and 10, these sessions are generally done in shorter 30-minute sessions.
  • For older children and adults, these sessions are primarily done as one-on-one sessions.
  • Swimming fitness assessments will include a range of fitness tests.

  • Endurance
  • Followed by some pool specific tests.
