The Science of Massage Therapy
The Sports Science Massage Centre is staffed by a dedicated team of therapists who are passionate about the scientific art of massage. Each of our experts is 100% committed to providing an excellent service to help you achieve your wellness goals.
This deep tissue trigger point massage can:
- Reduce the chance of injury
- Improve range of motion and muscle flexibility – resulting in increased power and performance
- Shorten recovery time between workouts
- Maximise the supply of nutrients and oxygen through increased blood flow
- Enhance elimination of the metabolic by-products of exercise.
Using knowledge of anatomy, this massage technique is a manipulation of the soft tissue, working in conjunction with the muscular structure of the human body.
The therapists also use a combination of trigger point and flow to promote general well being. Benefits include the boosting of the circulatory immune systems and improve blood pressure, circulation, muscle tone, digestion and skin quality.
Relaxation / holistic massage
This is a full flowing massage that includes the face, scalp and neck. Our therapists use a few trigger points that de-stress, soothe and refresh. The treatment also increases circulation, improves skin tone, helps with lymph drainage and relieves tension. It is wonderfully relaxing and rejuvenating.
A lot of tension is found in the face, neck and skull, which is why our therapists activate power trigger points to release the tension and leave one feeling completely renewed.
Tired and aching feet are revived via soothing trigger points and flowing touch.
Tui na is a specialised holistic treatment that seeks to restore the body’s natural energy systems.
