Are you keen to  seek out new adventures, meet like-minded folk, achieve great health and of course an in-shape body? Then join our action-packed Boot Camp with SSISA programme of themed, fun-filled outdoor training that works the body, mind and spirit. This 8-week lifestyle re-boot, run by the Sports Science Institute of SA’s health professionals, will reward you with improved fitness, a new vibrancy about life and the motivation to keep up a physically active lifestyle, not to mention the skills to make positive lifestyle choices!

Our next course in Newlands kicks off on 19 August 2013.. Boot Camp classes will include both Boot Camp and Boot Camp Lite options. Courses take place at the Westerford High School fields at two different time slots – 06h30 for the early birds and 17h45, for those who prefer exercising at the end of the day.
 
The next course in Durbanville kicks off on 19 August 2013. This course also includes both Boot Camp and Boot Camp Lite options. The class time is 17h45-18h45 and are held at the lovely Chesterhouse School, Mosselbank River Road in Durbanville!
 
We are thrilled to announce that our Boot Camp with SSISA programme is now also available in Pinelands at the Old Mutual Sports Fields. This course, which includes both Boot Camp and Boot Camp Lite options, kicks off on 19 August 2013.  Courses take place at two different time slots – 06h45 before work and 12h30, for those who can exercise during their lunch break.

A bit more on the course structure 

Boot Camp with SSISA caters for two different levels of fitness:
 
The Boot Camp "Lite" programme - is ideal for those who are not so fit and need some motivation. The Boot Camp programme - is geared towards currently active folk looking for a new challenge. Boot Camp will challenge you in new and thrilling ways - and that’s a promise.
 
Boot camp Addicts
If you have done one of our Boot Camp with SSISA programmes and LOVED it- this programme is for YOU! It’s almost like an extension of Boot Camp that is sure to keep you in fine shape. It runs at the same class times as Boot Camp and Boot Camp Lite. 
 
Before you head out for your first session on the field, you’ll undergo a comprehensive assessment. This gives you, and us, an idea of your current fitness status. We do another assessment at the end of camp so that you can see just how much you’ve improved. The results are impressive.
  • In addition to working out in the great outdoors, the programme also includes a workshop with a SSISA dietitian and biokineticist. These professionals will arm you with an arsenal of information that will help you live to the max in this stressful day and age.
  • Variety is the spice of a soldier’s life, which is why every session has a different focus and dishes up a fresh challenge. The Boot Camp sessions cover all aspects of fitness training including endurance and cardiovascular fitness, strength conditioning, core stability and proprioceptive training, circuit training, hiking, obstacle courses, yoga, Pilates and much more.
  • Each course includes two beautiful weekend morning hikes where friends and family are invited.
  • Some classes will take place offsite at stunning venues!

  • Graduate in style. At the end of the camp you and your platoon mates will graduate in a ‘passing out parade’.

Time & Classes

Boot camp is open to men and women and runs during the summer months. Classes kick butt 3 times per week for an hour.
